COVID-19 UPDATE: Our local shops in Austin have been hit the hardest due to the economic impacts of COVID-19.
One of the best things about Austin is that we have a local shopping scene with many local shops to shop from. Gift shops, jewelry shops, plant shops, women boutiques, and the biggest independent book store in the state of Texas!
Keep it local by shopping local like Austinites at these local shops in Austin organized by North, South, East, Central, South Congress, and downtown Austin. You won’t find any department stores like Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, Dillard’s, or Nordstrom on this list.
P.S. check out my pocket-sized guidebook on Austin Texas for more local shops in each neighborhood.
SHOPPING IN CENTRAL AUSTIN
There are several gift shops in Austin but Atown is one of my favorites because of the wide curated collection of local Austin gifts. Everything from women’s clothing, cards, candles, jewelry, baby gifts, and a dedicated men’s section in the back of the store.
Shop Koko is also set up here at Atown with my Koko’s Guide To Austin book, donut boobie tees, taco boobie tees, queso, and fries tees.
