MIX: Celebrate Texas Cocktails
Presented by Google Places
Raise a Glass to the Night with Favorite Texas Spirits

Launch787 is proud to announce the first ever MIX: Celebrate Texas Cocktails on Friday, June 17, 2011, presented by Google Places. Enter into the historic Mansion (Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs, 2312 San Gabriel) and sip custom-made specialty libations from 9:00pm to midnight.

Mixologists like Jason Stevens from East Side Show Room and Joe Eifler from The Tipsy Texan will each craft two extraordinary cocktails featuring one of 13 different Texas born and bred spirits for a total of 26 different drink options.

There will be a delightful range of sweet, salty and spicy to captivate your taste buds, from Indian inspired drinks with cumin and agave to fruity cosmopolitans with cranberry and honey.

Expect to try new flavor combinations like this drink from Dripping Springs Vodka called Love Actually:

2 oz Dripping Springs Vodka
4 oz freshly squeezed Grapefruit Juice
1 oz Rosemary Syrup
2 dashes Angostura Bitters

To make Rosemary Syrup, mix one cup sugar with one cup water in a saucepan. Add 6 sprigs rosemary, simmer for five minutes, allow to cool, remove rosemary.
Pour drink over ice or chill in a shaker and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary.

Enjoy your classic favorites or try a new drink featuring a Texas liquor from:

Balcones Distilling
SAVVY Handcrafted Vodka
Pecan Street Rum
Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka
Enchanted Rock Vodka
Treaty Oak Platinum Rum
Republic Tequila
Tequila Ambhar
Paula’s Texas Spirits
Tito’s Handmade Vodka
Railean Rum
Graham’s Texas Tea
Dripping Springs Vodka

Pair your cocktails with delectable snacks like warm, freshly baked mmmpanadas, sammachies from Sugar Shack BBQ and gastro pub fare from J. Black’s. JWG Photography will be capturing the memorable night of drinks, food and merriment at their photo booth all night long!

Tickets are currently on sale for $50 until noon on Friday, June 17 or $60 at the door; price includes drinks and food for the evening.

A portion of MIX proceeds will benefit Austin Involved, Austin’s newest volunteer movement. Members of Austin Involved have the opportunity to learn about local nonprofits, vote for their choice of inspiring organizations, and give a small donation of time and money as cohesive group in order to make a larger impact. http://austininvolved.org/
