We (the Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau and I) hosted our 2nd Annual Downtown Austin Photowalk at SXSW 2016! Thank you everyone that came out Saturday morning to explore our favorite institutions and murals, we had so much fun meeting everyone!
If you missed out, here’s where we photowalked through downtown Austin.
1. Texas Capitol

Opened in 1888, our Texas capitol is the tallest in the U.S. It’s more than 14 feet taller than the nation’s capitol building. It’s built of sunset red granite. Free tours are offered out of the south lobby multiple times per day.
2. Contemporary Austin Museum

6. SouthBites
Chi’lantro BBQ kimchi fries and Salt & Straw ice cream at SouthBites!
Big thank you to Lick Ice Creams and Jo’s Coffee shop for donating pints of ice cream and gift cards!
