Cooking class with Casa Jacaranda

Our cooking experience with Casa Jacaranda is one of the best experiences I’ve ever done – we had so much fun! The morning started with Beto of Casa Jacaranda taking us on a tour of the San Juan de Dios Market. Here, we learned all about the history of spices, fruit, grains, and more that traveled in and out of Mexico. We got to sample quesadillas, tortillas, and more in the market.

Beto then invited us to their home in Guadalajara for the cooking class experience. Over the next few hours, we learned how to make tamales, salsas, birria, and tortillas – all from scratch. This was incredible! We enjoyed family meal and then ended with a tequila/mezcal tasting.

I would highly, highly recommend Casa Jacaranda – they’re moving back to Mexico City soon.
