AND you will be entered for a chance to win the daily prize, $50 toward sweet summer treats AND a new stand-alone refrigerator and freezer from Electrolux.

Dear Readers,

As a featured publisher for Foodbuzz, I would love to be on the front page of www.foodbuzz.com/top9 where they feature ‘today’s top 9’ blog posts. In the Top 9 Takeover, Foodbuzz is asking all Featured Publishers to construct a post around a theme, and then for one day only, all Top 9 posts reflect that theme! For this Electrolux Splits Top 9 Takeover, we were asked to either create or find the ultimate Banana Split. And for this post, Foodbuzz will donate $50 for the cause. Since I’m interning in Taiwan for the summer I don’t have my kitchen, which I miss terribly, I had to go out and look for one! Matt and me searched for ice cream shops all over Taipei and we ended up at Haagen Dazs. I have never seen a Haagen Daz shop in Texas but they’re everywhere in Taiwan. The one we went to was by the Bellavita and it was incredibly classy. I’m talking being seated by a waitress, served glasses of water and then presented with a menu.

Courtesy of Häagen Dazs, may I present the ultimate banana split?

Caramelized banana drizzled with chocolate sauce. Scoop of tiramisu, strawberry cheesecake, and fudge brownie ice cream. Topped with whipped cream, almonds, and more chocolate sauce. Two toasted waffle shards and a side of fresh strawberry with strawberry sauce.
