Pop-Up Magazine is the touring “live magazine” show, created for a stage, a screen, and a live audience. Contributors tell vivid, new, multimedia stories accompanied by illustration, animation, photography, and an original score performed onstage by our musical collaborators, Magik*Magik Orchestra.

Contributors to Pop-Up Magazine‘s Winter Issue include comedian Catherine Cohen (Seek Treatment podcast, High Maintenance, Broad City); musician Jinho “The Piper” Ferreira (Flipsyde); poet Sarah Kay (Project VOICE); documentary filmmakers Isabel Castro (Crossing Over, named Best Documentary Film by GLAAD) and Cecilia Aldarondo (Memories of a Penitent HeartPicket Line); photographer Diana Markosian (National Geographic, New Yorker, The New York Times); artists Liana Finck (The New Yorker, The Awl; author, Passing for Human) and Esther Pearl Watson (Frieze Art Fair, Webb Gallery); writer Jason Parham (Wired) and more. Check out the full list of contributors to the Winter 2020 Issue here

The Winter 2020 Issue contributors will be revealed here on Dec. 10. Pop-Up Magazine’s Winter 2020 Issue will feature stories about a soap opera’s significance in post-Soviet Russia, flying saucers and family, the criminalization of humanitarian aid at the border, learning to say what we mean — and even some cabaret.

We end the night gathered around the bar, performers and audience together. And nothing goes online after—you have to be there to see it.

“A sensation” — The New York Times | “Beautiful” — Los Angeles Times | “Highbrow/Brilliant” — New York Magazine | “Consistently one of the most inspiring, hilarious, and thought-provoking theatrical performances.“—Thrillist | “It’s a great format — better than comedy, better than film, better than theater.”—Uproxx
