Gardner, East Austin’s restaurant from Contigo’s Ben Edgerton and Andrew Wiseheart, has officially launched their The Bar at Gardner, a 24 seat bar & patio that will serve Gardner inspired food in a more casual setting. This includes a top-notch happy hour with smaller bar snacks and largest plates! Happy hour is 5:30 – 7PM Monday through Friday with $2 off all patio snacks, $2 off all wines by the glass and draft beers, and $3 alfa lager.

Since opening last fall, Gardner has focused on emphasizing quality ingredients, simply and straightforwardly prepared. The team’s new cocktail program maintains a strong focus on raw culinary ingredients and utilizing kitchen techniques with drinks that have been carefully crafted to pair with their food in the same way that wine and beer does. Without utilizing any “secondary spirits” the cocktails bring Gardner’s  flavor profiles into the realm of cocktails.

Named after chef Wiseheart’s father, Gardner Wiseheart, the restaurant focuses on seasonal vegetables, simply prepared and elegantly executed.  The business partners drew inspiration for Gardner’s menu from culinary traditions, flavors and experiences Wiseheart gained traveling around the world, and aim to offer straightforward, thoughtful preparations of the highest quality ingredients available.
