AIA Austin Hosts Design Talks with Sara Zewde of Studio Zewde

(Austin, Texas) — AIA Austin’s first Design Talks luncheon of 2020 is set for Thursday, February 13 starting at 11:30am. The talk features Sara Zewde, founding principal of Studio Zewde in Manhattan, a design firm practicing at the intersection of landscape architecture, urbanism, and public art. Zewde holds two master’s degrees, one from Harvard and the other MIT, and is the recipient of multiple honors and awards from 2014 to present day. In 2018, she was named to the National Trust for the Historic Preservation’s inaugural “40 under 40: People Saving Places” list. In her AIA Austin talk, she will explore how rapid urban development, climate change, political tensions and more offer creative departures for landscape architecture today.
