1. Prep Ahead

Hosting your first outdoor party can be intimating and stressful. Set the table a day in advance so you can focus on the food and drinks the day of. Thanks to my friends at West Elm Austin for helping me create this beautiful nautical themed tablescape. I’m obsessed with these harbor buoys painted vases, coral, and iron vases!

Windy day? Skip the tablecloth and let your table shine with decor, drinks, and food. You can also lay brown craft paper across a table for a casually finished look―and super-easy cleanup.

2. Focus On Finger Food

No one wants to spend the whole night in the kitchen. Serve light snacks like a simple cheese board, croissants, tiny savory bites, and miniature desserts to keep your event casual and relaxing.
