Royers Pie Haven in Round Top Texas

Royers Pie Haven

Royers Pie is the most iconic restaurant in Round Top and for good reason, because the pies are absolutely delicious. I always make a stop here when I visit Round Top and opt for a sweet and savory pie option. The Texas Trash Pie with coconut, chocolate chips, graham crackers, pretzels, and caramel with a scoop of Blue Bell ice cream is a must but I also pick between the Margherita Chicken Pizza Pie and Chicken Pot Pie.

Royers Cafe in Round Top Texas

Royers Round Top Café

Royers sister restaurant is the Royers Round Top Cafe where they’ve been serving gourmet comfort food for over 30 years. Round Top Smoke House BBQ

Round Top Smoke House BBQ is hands down one of the best barbecues I’ve ever had. Lee Ellis smokes his meats from a Mill Scale barbecue pit from the back of Henkel Hall in Henkel Square and you can smell the barbecue from the parking lot. You can order meats by the lbs – brisket, turkey, St. Louis style pork ribs (my favorite), Chinese style baby back ribs, and sausage, and the dino beef ribs are $28 each. Don’t miss the sides either!

Lulu’s

We opted for takeout from a charming European eatery nestled in Bybee Square – the bucatini pasta was superb, reminiscent of a Frenchie delight!

The Ellis Motel

If you’re in the mood for a European-inspired drink, head to The Ellis Motel bar – it’s the ultimate frenchie spot with a chic ambiance. For a unique shopping experience, explore Market Hill or visit the Round Top Antiques Fair. Craving brunch with an English twist? The Ellis Motel is your go-to spot. If you’re into home decor, Market Hill is a treasure trove of finds. And for a delightful culinary experience, indulge in some mouthwatering tacos – The Ellis Motel has you covered with a diverse menu. Looking for a festive atmosphere? Visit Blue Mule Winery around 20 minutes away in Fayetteville, especially during the Christmas season.

Local Roots

Local Roots is also another restaurant located in Henkel Square – it’s easy to walk by the unassuming two-story house but the interior is beautifully decorated and transports you to another era.  The sandwiches are made with homemade bread, fresh salads with homemade dressings, and don’t miss out on the homemade desserts.

If you’re wanting Tex-Mex, head to Mandito’s! We went there for a late-night meal for fajitas, salsa, and queso.
