How To Make A Pineapple Boat

While working an Acai Bowl recipe, I decided that instead of the ordinary bowl I would create a tropical Acai bowl inside a pineapple. The process was actually pretty easy so I figured I would share this quick tutorial!

How To Make A Pineapple Boat

Pineapple

1. Wash and pat dry.

Be sure to wash your pineapple thoroughly. There was a spider hiding the leaves in my pineapple! Use a paper towel to pat dry.

Halved Pineapple

2. Halve the pineapple.

Lay the pineapple down with the bottom facing you. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut down through the leaves and through the pineapple.

Hollowed Out Pineapple

3. Hollow out the pineapple.

Using a small knife, cut around the sides of the pineapple. Then make vertical and horizontal slices. Be careful to not cut through or you’ll have a leaky pineapple boat! Use a spoon to reach under the pieces to remove.

4. Clean up.

Remove all pieces and drain the juice. Viola! You have a pineapple boat! Wrap in saran wrap and refrigerate for later use or use right away.
